Recently I have been receiving numerous questions about our products and which ones to use.  Here is the latest "Ask Elizabeth" skincare question:

Elizabeth, I have sun spots on my face.  Would you recommend the Brighten-Up Serum or the CE-20?

Great question and pigmentation is one of my favorite skin topics.

If you are experiencing sun induced hyperpigmentation then the CE-20 is probably one of THE best products you can use.  However, if you have acne, then this product may not be the best because it does have some vitamin E in it and some people can break out from it.  If you have mild acne, then it’s probably not a big deal.  If you do have acne, then I would recommend the Brighten Up Serum.

I always recommend starting with our Alpha/Beta Cleanser because this will prep your skin for any other products you’ll use.  Why spend good money on a serum when it won’t work well without the proper preparation?

The CE-20 works real fast for most people.  The standard response is that within a few days you can see changes.  I don’t like to make this promise because everyone is different, but this is the feedback we receive.

The Brighten-Up takes a lot longer to work.  This is product is better suited for people who have pigmentation from breakouts.  It works on clearing out the pores but will also gradually lighten the skin. 

I am personally a fan of both products.  I will use the brighten up in winter because my skin is more sensitive to it when exposed to the sun in the hot summer months.  I can use the CE-20 year round though and I do!  It keeps my pigmentation minimized and my skin looking like I hardly age.  It’s a win-win!
